Gilad Shalit's Voice from Captivity

Click here for Gilad's own voice, reporting on his captivity in Gaza.

Analysts are saying that the tape may have been spliced from multiple sources and based on wording, pronounciations, and intonation he was probably forced to read from prewritten scripts.

Seems like a rescue mission is in order.

Have they made any headway in identifying when the tape was made?

I guess the line about not being a drug dealer was a reference to elhanan tanenbaum and the deal that was struck with hezbollah a few years ago.

Analysts have noted from the choice and pronounciation of words that he was probably forced to read from a text not written by him.

Hamas is using him for psychological warfare. On the other hand they must be feeling pressure if they felt the need to release information about him.

Israel should be ripping the place up looking for him.

I would hate to be an IDF soldier right now, knowing that if I were captured the army wouldn't still be actively fighting for my release.

I cannot listen to this now because I am at work but I very much want to.

Analysts are now saying the tape was spliced from multiple sources.

>Analysts are now saying the tape >was spliced from multiple >sources.

What does that suggest?

It suggests a lot of things or no things at all.

Anything he says is irrelevant anyway, as at best it was said under duress, and at worst, was never said by him at all in any context relevant to his current status.

Joe is right, this is psychological warfare.
